1. **Daily maintenance**:
    - **Cleaning aspects**:

        - For the heat sinks, vents and other parts of the reducer, pay special attention to cleaning to prevent blockage and ensure good heat dissipation performance.
    - **Inspection aspects**:
        - Frequently check whether the connecting bolts of each part of the reducer are loose, and if they are loose, they should be tightened in time. This includes the connecting bolts between the case and the base, and the connecting keys between the shaft and the gears, etc., to prevent the relative motion between the parts due to looseness from aggravating wear or damage.
        - Check whether the seals of the reducer are intact, such as shaft seals and seals. If there is any oil leakage, the seals should be replaced in time to avoid lubricant leakage, which will affect the normal lubrication and working performance of the reducer.
        - Observe whether there is any abnormal vibration, noise or heat phenomenon during the operation of the reducer.         - Choose suitable lubricating oil: According to the type of reducer, working environment, load conditions and other factors, choose suitable lubricating oil. The lubricant should have good anti-wear, anti-oxidation, anti-rust and anti-foaming properties.
        - Regular replacement of lubricating oil: Replace the lubricating oil in time according to the time and oil change cycle specified in the instruction manual of the reducer. Generally speaking, the new reducer should have the first oil change after running for about 2,000 hours, and then every half a year to a year. If the working environment of the reducer is harsh, such as high temperature, high humidity, dusty, etc., the oil change cycle should be shortened appropriately.
        - Check the lubrication system: Regularly check whether the lubrication system of the reducer, including the oil pump, oil pipe, filter and other parts are working normally. Ensure that the oil pump can supply oil normally, the oil pipe is unobstructed, and the filter is not clogged, so as to ensure that the lubricating oil can reach the gear meshing parts smoothly and play a good lubricating effect.
    - **Gear inspection and maintenance**:
        - Regularly check the wear of gears: open the reducer case and check whether the tooth surface of the gear is worn, scratched, pitting and other phenomena. If the wear is serious, the gears should be replaced in a timely manner so as not to affect the transmission accuracy and load carrying capacity of the reducer.
        - Check the mesh gap of gears: Use the plug ruler or lead pressure method to check whether the mesh gap of gears meets the requirements. If the gap is too large or too small, it will affect the transmission performance and life of the gear, and should be adjusted in time.
        - Cleaning and maintenance of gears: In regular maintenance, the gears can be disassembled and cleaned with a cleaning agent to remove the dirt and oil on the gear surface. After cleaning, an appropriate amount of anti-rust oil can be applied to the gear surface to prevent the gear from rusting.
    - **Bearing Inspection and Maintenance**:
        - Check the wear and tear of the bearings: by listening to the sound, touching the temperature, observing the vibration, etc., determine whether the bearings are working normally. If the bearings show abnormal noise, heat or vibration, the bearings may be worn or damaged and should be replaced in time.
        - Add grease regularly: For speed reducer with rolling bearings, add appropriate amount of grease regularly to keep the bearings well lubricated. When adding grease, pay attention to choosing the suitable grease type and add it according to the specified adding amount.
        - Check the clearance of the bearings: Use a percentage meter or other tools to check whether the clearance of the bearings meets the requirements. If the clearance is too large or too small, it will affect the service life of the bearing and the working performance of the reducer, and should be adjusted or replaced in time.
3. **Maintenance of special conditions**:
    - **Maintenance during the break-in period**: The newly installed gear reducer should pay special attention to maintenance and care during the break-in period. During the break-in period, the load of the reducer should be gradually increased to avoid running at full load at the beginning. At the same time, pay close attention to the operating condition of the reducer and stop the machine in time for inspection if there is any abnormality.
    - **Maintenance after long-term deactivation**: If the gear reducer is deactivated for a long period of time, a comprehensive inspection and maintenance should be carried out before re-activation. This includes checking whether the components are normal, replacing the lubricant, checking the electrical system, etc. Make sure that the gear reducer has not been damaged during the period of deactivation and can operate normally.
    - **Maintenance in harsh environments**: If the reducer works in harsh environments, such as high temperature, high humidity, corrosive gases and other environments, the frequency of maintenance and upkeep should be strengthened. Regularly check whether the protective coating of the speed reducer is intact, and if it is damaged, it should be repaired in time; strengthen the monitoring of the lubricant and replace the deteriorated lubricant in time.
